Important requirements
If any future load is feed intended for ruminants or non-ruminant farmed animals other than aquaculture animals and porcine animals OR

If any future load is feed of which the destination / target animal is yet unknown

--> Vehicles, containers which have been previously used for the transport of processed animal proteins derived from poultry and compound feed containing these products, may be subsequently used for the transport of feed intended for ruminants or non-ruminant farmed animals other than aquaculture animals and porcine animals provided that they are cleaned beforehand in order to avoid cross-contamination, in accordance with a documented procedure which has been given prior authorisation by the competent authority.authorisation by the competent authority.

If the next load(s) is (are) feed intended for aquaculture animals or porcine animals

--> If IDTF no. 10177 concerns a dry product then the minimum cleaning regime is A.
--> If IDTF no. 10177 concerns a moist/liquid product then the minimum cleaning regime is B.
Exceptions for AIC:

  • Concerning raw materials:

Dedicated transport. French regulation (Code Rural, Article R226-1) requires that certain products derived from animal by-products authorized for animal feed in the applicable European regulation be transported in vehicles or containers reserved for this purpose.

  • There is no release procedure documented by the competent authority.
Description

Processed animal protein means animal protein derived entirely from Category 3 material, which have been treated in accordance with Reg. (EU) No 142/2011, Section 1 of Chapter II of Annex X (including blood meal) so as to render them suitable for direct use as feed material or for any other use in feedingstuffs, including petfood; however, it does not include blood products, milk, milk-based products, milk-derived products, colostrum, colostrum products, centrifuge or separator sludge, gelatine, hydrolysed proteins and dicalcium phosphate, eggs and egg-products, including eggshells, tricalcium phosphate and collagen.
